I don't think I have ever knowingly been to a "singles bar." So I always imagined them as severely lacking in good looking people. Plus, I imagine the frequenters of a singles bar are there because they're extremely horny, and given the chance they'd all start f-ing each other. Especially if you can't see what the other person really looks like.

People always do that to me too.

In personal-ad speak, "looks better with the lights off" translates into "romantic."
